ABSTRACTTheMIMO-OFDMtechnologyhasbecomethemainstreamphysicallayerschemeappliedinbroadbandmobilecommunicationsystems,withadvantagesinresistingfrequencyselectivefadingandboostingsystemcapacity.Nevertheless,therapidchannelvarianceinahighspeedsystemcouldleadtolargeDopplerfrequencyshift,whichwouldbringaboutseriousinter-carrierinterference(ICI)atthereceivingterminalandsystemperformancedeterioration.HereinthispaperresearchesonchannelestimationandsignaldetectionatthereceiverofMIMO-OFDMsysteminfasttime-varyingenvironmentwerecarriedout,whichcontain:①Thecharacteristicsoftimeandfrequencyresponseinfasttime-varyingenvironmentwasanalyzed.Lineartime-varyingmodel(LTV)andbasisexpansionmodel(BEM)wereselectedtomodelthetime-varyingchannel.BycomparisonofthemodelingaccuracyofdifferentchannelsimulationmodelsandtheimpactsthatorderQmadeonBEM,L-BEMwithstrongorthogonality,highfittingprecisionandsimplestructurewasselectedasthechannelmodel.②ChannelestimationalgorithmbasedonLTVmodelandBEMmodelforMIMO-OFDMsystemwasstudied,wheretheBEMmodelshowedbetteradaptabilitytolargerDopplerandbetterfittingdegree.LMMSEestimatorbasedonL-BEMhadgoodperformancesbutrequiredcomplexinformationstatisticsandprocess.WhileforLSestimatorbasedonL-BEM,nopriorinformationwasneeded,andtheproliferationofICIcouldbesuppressedthroughpre-windowingbeforeLSestimation.Onthepremiseofnoobviousincreaseinalgorithmcomplexity,theperformanceoftheLSestimatorwasimproved.ThesimulationresultsdemonstratedthatthisschemehasachievedexcellentestimationaccuracyanditacquiredbetterperformancethanLMMSEestimatorundertheconditionofhighSNR.③Traditionalorderedsuccessiveinterferencecancellation(OSIC)consideredsinglesubcarriersignalasthedetectionlayer,anditsdirect-judgingcausedseriouserrorpropagation.Aimingatthisproblem,animprovedOSICdetectionschemewasproposedinthispaper.Inthecodedsystem,eachOFDMsymbolwasselectedasthedetectionlayer,andchannelcolumnsnormasthesortingcriterion.Theconvolutionwasappliedtocorrecttherandomerrorscausedbynoise,andtheinterleavingwasapplie
