AseriesofP(AAEA-co-DMAA)hydrogelsweresynthesizedfromthesolutionradicalpolymerizationofAAEAandDMAA.Theswellingkineticsofthehydrogelswerestudied,theresultsshowedthatwhenn(AAEA):n(DMAA)﹤1,theFickcharacteristicexponentwaslowerthan0.5,itbelongstoFickcontrolleddiffuse;whenn(AAEA):n(DMAA)﹥1,theFickcharacteristicexponentwashigherthan0.5andthehydrogelswerenon-Fickhydrogels.Thethermo-sensitivity,pH-sensitivityandion-sensitivityofhydrogelswereinvestigated.Asthetemperaturerose,P(AAEA-co-DMAA)hydrogelshrankandlostwaterbitbybit.Thegelcompositionofn(AAEA):n(DMAA)=3:1dissolveto60%waterratiowhentemperatureroseto85℃.P(AAEA-co-DMAA)hydrogelexhibitedgoodpH-sensitivity.ThewaterratiowithinhydrogelschangedsharplyfrompH=3topH=7.TheinvestigationofionicsensitivityoftheP(AAEA-co-DMAA)hydrogelsindicatedthatthehydrogelsshowinterruptedvolumetransitionattheconcentrationofNaCl0.1mol/L.Byaddingporogenicagent,theswellingspeedandresponsivenessofhydrogelsbothhaveincreased.Aseriesoffast-responsiveandelectricallysensitiveP(AAEA-co-AMPS)hydrogelsweresynthesizedbysolutionradicalpolymerizationusingdifferentmolecularweightordifferentcontentofPEGasporogenicagents.Theinfluenceofdifferentmolecularweightofporogenicagentsonswellingspeedwerestudied.ThehydrogelcontainingPEG6000asporogenicagentexhibitedthehighestswellinganddeswellingratio,reacheditsswellingequilibriumwhinin30seconds,andgotitsequilibriumdeswellingstatewithin40minutesin0.1mol/LNaClsolutionandevenfasterabout12minutesunderanelectricfield.Theaddingamountofporogenicagentalsohadanimpactonswellingspeedofhydrogels.Whentheaddingamountofporogenicagentreached10%massfractionoftotalmonomers,thehydrogelreacheditsswellingequilibriumwhinin40seconds,gotitsequilibriumdeswellingstatewithin20minutesin0.1mol/LNaClsolutionandevenfasterabout9minutesunderanelectricfield.TheinfluenceofelectrolytepH,electrolyteconcentration,electrolytetypeandelectricfieldstrengthonporoushydrogel’selectricalsensitivitywereinvestigated.TheresultsshowedthatwhenpH=12,thehydrogelgotitsequilibrium
