Firstly, it analyzes the evolution process of Lanzhou economic zone’s economic spatial structure and has a clear view on the stage in which Lanzhou economic zone is. it also proposes the target to optimize economic spatial structure’s elements objectively through the characteristics in the development; Secondly, it has a comprehensive analysis to the major influence factors of spatial economic structure for the Lanzhou economic zone, including the carrying capacity of land resources, water capacity, the ecological environmental capacity, and the comprehensive economic and social strength; Finally, it analyzes the main elements’ spatial distribution about Lanzhou economic zone’s economic spatial structure, including the analysis of the economic centers at all levels, spatial distribution of transport infrastructure and spatial concentrated situation of industries. Chapter V is the optimization and control measures of Lanzhou economic zone’s economic spatial structure, showing that Lanzhou economic zone’s economic spatial structure should be optimized from three aspects. The three aspects include integrating the core areas in Lanzhou and Baiyin, building a reasonable urban system and optimizing the economic layout of Lanzhou economic zone.
