Reflections on status Quo of English Teaching in Secondary Vocational Schools 《中等职业学校英语教学的现状与反思》

Abstract: According to some current common teaching phenomenons in secondary vocational schools, this paper proposes several aspects of reflections in English teaching including teaching concepts, teaching methods, teaching activities, school-based textbook, multivariate evaluation and teaching research.

1. Introduction
As English teaching is an important part in vocational education, it should conform to the trend of social development, it should strengthen students comprehensive qualities that the graduates from vocational schools have certain English level and ability. But due to reasons known to all that the students often lack definite interest of learning English, English teaching cant achieve the effect,teachers can not reach the teaching aims. This paper analyzes English teaching situation in secondary vocational schools, puts forward some reflections and some opinions about teaching reforms.
2. English teaching status in vocational schools
(1)About teaching concepts:
Compared with ordinary schools, English teaching in vocational schools has its own characteristics. Many English teachers in vocational schools transferred from ordinary middle schools, now they are still using the same teaching methods as those in ordinary schools. This is not very conducive to the development of English teaching in vocational education. In fact, English teaching model in a vocational school is quite different from that in an ordinary high school. In secondary vocational schools the objectives of students training, the source of the students and all aspects after graduation are not the same.
