BAND IV Unit One Part I Conversations Directions: In this section youll hear 10 short conversations and 2 long conversations. At the end of each conversation a question will be asked about what was said. The conversation and the question will be spoken once. After each question there will be a pause. During the pause you must read the four choices marked A), B), C) and D), and decide which is the best answer. Then mark the corresponding letter on your answer sheet. Section A Short Conversations 1. M：I have to type my paper late tonight, but I’m afraid my roommate won’t be able to sleep. W: There is a soundproof typing room in the basement. You can take your typewriter down there and no one will hear it. Q: According to the woman, what should the man do? C ) 2.
