OpticalCharacteristicsofDual-periodicalPhotonicCrystalHeterostructuresAbstractICthatintegratestherequiredcircuitelementsonasmallpieceofsemiconductorchips,semiconductordevices,makescircuitminiaturization,lowspowerandcost,revolutionizesIT.WhentheminiaturizationofintegratedcircuitsreachesacertainscaleasMooresLawpredicted,electronswhichperformancesasacarrierintheintegratedcircuits,isboundtorestricttheenhancementofIT.Toachieveabreakthroughonthesizeofthedevice,informationtransmissionspeed,efficiencyandquality,wemustrelyonnewmaterials,photoniccrystalswithaphotonasacarriercancompensateforthisdefect.Photoniccrystalspossessthecharacteristicsofregulatingthetransmissionofelectromagneticwavesandformattingphotonicbandage.Inrecentyears,photoniccrystalsasanewmaterialhavebecomeahottopic,andresearcherspaymoreandmoreattentiontoapplicationsofphotoniccrystaldevices.Thebasicresearchonthephotoniccrystalsevolvesconstantlytoarelativelymature.Buttherearerarereportsonthecombinedeffectofthelightandpower.Thispapergivesareportonthispointwithanobjectiveofdual-periodicalphotoniccrystalheterostructures.Thecharacteristicsofphotonicbandgap(PBG)ofaone-dimensional(1-D)photoniccrystal(PC)withdual-periodicalheterostructures(AmBn)Narestudiedbymethodsofcombiningnumericalcalculationandtheoreticalanalysis.TheessayputsemphasisonthecaseofthePCwithcomplexrefractiveindexlayers,aswellasthemeso-piezoopticeffectofthestrainedPC.Themainworkandachievementsincludethefollowingaspects:Firstofall,thepapergivesacomprehensiveintroductiontophotoniccrystalsincludingtheconceptofthebasicprinciples,theory,researchmethodsandpreparationmethodsanditsapplicationprospects.Second,thecharacteristicsofphotonicbandgap(PBG)ofaone-dimensional(1-D)photoniccrystal(PC)withdual-periodicalheterostructures(AmBn)Narestudiedbytransfermatrixmethod.Giventheperfectelectrolytes,theresultsshowthatphotoniccrystalcanformaphotonicbandagewithanadjustmentinnumbersofdefectmodesandthewidthofbandages.Therefractiveindexaffectsweaklyonphotonicbandages,thusthepho
