Pfizer Inc., New York, NY. * Five hundred sixty-three patients completed the prescreening questions AND qualified for completing the 9-item, long-form screener in the primary care office; this means that the patients reported 2 or more headaches in the previous 3 months and felt that their headaches limited their ability to work, study, or enjoy life, or they wished to speak with a healthcare professional about their headaches. Five hundred fifty subjects (97.7%) actually completed the screener—this shows that even the 9-item long form had high ease of use.25 All of the 550 patients were referred for a “gold-standard” full diagnostic evaluation by neurologists. Fully 80% complied (n=451): Note that there were no significant differences in terms of demographic or clinical characteristics between those who did and those who did not comply.
