Purpose The purpose of this program is to ensure the safety of all employees and contractors working for Houston Controls, Inc and to comply with all regulations and host clients that pertain to confined spaces. Scope This program covers all employees and other workers that may be involved in confined space entry. When work is performed on a non-owned or operated site, the operator’s program shall take precedence. This document covers Houston Controls, Inc employees and contractors and shall be used on owned premises, or when an operator’s program doesn’t exist or is less stringent. Definitions Acceptable entry conditions - the conditions that must exist in a confined space to allow entry and to ensure that employees involved with a confined space entry can safely enter into and work within the space. Attendant - an individual stationed outside one or more Confined spaces who monitors the authorized Entrants and who performs all Attendants duties assigned in the Houston Controls, Inc Confined Spaces Program. Attendants must have sufficiently completed and fully understands the Confined Space training and is approved by the HSE Manager to work in a confined space as an Attendant. Authorized Entrant - an individual who is authorized by Houston Controls, Inc to enter a confined space.
