This paper will present the process of derivation of the US tables from the US official dissemination (Bureau of Economic Analysis) into the same classification used in the European Union, to allow comparison between the European Union supply, use and symmetric input-output tables and the US tables for the years 2008 - 2010. The changeover of classifications was introduced in the European Union by a legal act in December 2006 for an implementation from 1 January 2008 onwards.
