马尔科姆·福布斯 He was born on August 19, 1919 to Bertie Charles Forbes. He graduated from the Lawrenceville School （劳斯维伦斯中学）and Princeton University（普林斯顿大学）. After dabbling（涉足） in politics, including service in the New Jersey Senate （新泽西州）from 1951 to 1957 and candidacy for Governor（州长） of New Jersey, he committed（决心从事） to the magazine full time by 1957, three years after his father‘s death, and after the death of his brother in 1964 acquired sole control（单独控制权） of the company. The magazine grew steadily under his leadership, and he diversified（扩展） into real estate（不动产） sales and other ventures（合资企业）. One of his last projects was the magazine Egg, which chronicled New York‘s nightlife（被载入了纽约晚报）.
