虚拟化和mware产品简介讲解材料
VMware P2V consists of both a service (offered by our own Professional services organization) and proprietary software that helps you migrate your existing physical machine environment into a Virtual machine, largely automatically. The P2V process consists of three steps: imaging, virtualization, and reinstantiation (or re-booting) in a new virtual machine. Virtualization occurs in the GUI-driven P2V Assistant software, which runs on any Windows 2000 or Windows XP physical system or virtual machine, and reinstantiation can occur in any VMware product, from Workstation to GSX Server and ESX Server. The advantage of this automated process, of course, is speed and safety: migrating, instead of reinstalling or rebuilding, preserves your original files – so there’s no extra time spent, and no risk of leaving things behind.
