I saw Maria playing piano in the gym. 2. almost adv. 几乎，差不多 如：Almost everyone has a computer in this country. almost 和nearly的区别： 在肯定句中，nearly, almost都可以表示“几乎”，可以互换。放在be动词之后，行为动词之前。 如：He nearly fell into the water. = He almost fell into the water. 在否定句中，almost能和never，no, none, nothing, nobdy等表示否定意义的词连用，而nearly不可以。但是当almost和nearly都可以用在行为动词的否定形式之前。 如：Throwing litter is almost never allowed. The poor man has almost no money.
