Durability Stop/Start Cranking Motor – Live Engine Durability Test Procedure Cranking Motor – 2019 NGC Plus Engine C10T 4.3.3.14. Durability Test process 4.3.3.14. Durability The cranking motor assembly shall be mounted in a manner dynamically similar to its mounting during service use. The cranking motor assembly shall be tested per GMW3163 paragraph 4.3.8.1 Cranking Motor Durability Test for conventional starter motor. Starter yoke temperature shall be monitored so it’s between +70 °C and +80 °C. Cooling fan is allowed when the starter yoke temperature is above 80°C and must be off when the starter yoke temperature is below 70°C. Brush length and commutator roundness must be measured before starter is assembled for testing. Power source and cable resistance per AppC1.Live engine bench set up, power source, test procedure should be confirmed and signed by PATAC DRE before durability test begin per AppC1 4.7. Supplier should provide the durability test status to PATAC DRE every week per AppC1 4.8. Supplier should submit 5 sets of key start and 5 sets of auto start profile original data source to PATAC every week. (Original data source with HIOKI or Yokagawa software. Supplier should provide the software to PATAC if none of above software used). Start profile including battery voltage, starter B+ voltage, starter S terminal voltage, starter current, engine speed. Brush length must be included in DV/PV test report. Stop/Start Cranking Motor –MTSS Live Engine Durability Test Procedure Brush length and commutator roundness must be measured before starter is assembled for testing.
