My own interpretation of teaching debate in Chile is contained in the subtitle for this book: Age of Wisdom, Season of Light, Spring of Hope. “Teaching Debate in Chile”, in my view, is indeed an act of Wisdom due to the many benefits it bestows upon debaters. Debating is a shining, “Season of Light” in days of darkness and nights of nothingness; debating is also a source from which Hope for a better day Springs forth, in spite of the storms that beset us from time to time. This is a book written by a teacher for teachers. Its primary purpose is to encourage the teaching of debate
