It covers data on ethnographic information on the the history of Panxi township. The author hopes to present the cultural diversity in Panxi through an analysis of the local ethnic groups’ religions. Chapter 2. Through the research of the experience of meeting god and combining with god in the folk sacrificial rituals, the interactions between Christian and followers of traditional beliefs, this part discussed the interaction among religions. With the spreading of Buddhism and Christianity in this area, the local peoples belief in Buddhism and Christianity was somewhat combined with their traditional belief and folk sacrificial offering. The Panxi Buddhist traditional faith has greatly permeated their belief in the Buddhism. In the name of worshiping Buddhism, some Panxi Buddhists apply the doctrines of polytheism, at the same timeand hold traditional beliefs. Chapter 3. Firstly, the author analyzes the different influences of Buddhism, Christianity, Islam and traditional faith of Yi ethnic theism upon religious culture and funeral rites. Funerary customs that from the funeral itself to various monuments, prayers, and rituals undertaken in their honor, comprise the complex of beliefs and practices used by a culture to remember the dead. These customs vary widely between cultures, and between religious affiliations within cultures. Secondly, through the disputation between Christian and followers of traditional beliefs in funeral rites of Yi ethnic group, the author discusses the interaction between Christianity and traditional faith of Yi ethnic group.
