TheForeignLanguageTrainingModelofJointMilitaryExerciseundertheShanghaiCooperationOrganization（上合组织框架下联合军演外语培训模式研究）AThesisSubmittedtotheGraduateSchoolofNationalUniversityofDefenseTechnologyInPartialFulfillmentoftheRequirementsFortheDegreeofMasterofArtsByQuKaiyongUndertheSupervisionofProfessorMaJianguangNationalUniversityofDefenseTechnologyChangsha,HunanOctober，2011ABSTRACTWiththeincreasingcomplexityoftheinternationalsecuritysituationandtheincreasingamountofnon-traditionalfactorsthatthreatenthesafety,themultinationalJointMilitaryExercise(JME),whoseobjectiveistomaintainregionalpeaceandstability,isevolvingintoanincreasinglyimportantstyleofinternationalmilitarycooperation.LanguagesupportisoneofthemosturgentJMEsupportissues.ContinuouslyenhancingthequalityofForeignLanguageTrainingofJointMilitaryExercise(FLTJME)istheinevitablerequirementofaccomplishingtheJMEtasks.However,currentlytherearesomeexistingproblemswithinourmilitary’sFLTJMEasfollows.Theperiodoftrainingisshort.Thetraineesarerestrictedwithinterpreters.Thetrainingcontentsarenotcomprehensiveenoughtosupportmilitaryinterpretation.Thereareafewmethodscommonlyusedinthetraining,andtheeffectiveassessmentsystemhasnotbeenestablished.Therefore,howtoimprovetheFLTJMEqualityandefficiencytoprovidegoodlanguagesupportforimplementingJMEsbecomesanurgentresearchtopic.BasedonsomerelevantESPtheoriesandinviewoftheFLTJMEstatusquo,thisstudyaimsatestablishingascientificandreasonableFLTJMEmodel,whichisusedtoguidetheimplementationofvariousJMEactivities.TheultimategoalistoimprovetheFLTJMEquality,andprovidereliablelanguagesupportforsmoothcarryingoutofJMEandperfectaccomplishingofJMEtasks.Inthisthesis,tworesearchquestionswereexplored:whattheappropriatemodelthatisgoingtobeusedintheFLTJMEis;howweevaluatetherationalityandeffectivenessoftheestablishedFLTJMEmodel.ThethesisatfirstexpoundstheESPtheory,whichprovidesthetheoreticalbasisforestablishingtheFLTJMEmodel;then,theESPtheoryisusedtoanalyzetheFLTJMEcurrentsituation,onthebasisofwhichthe“fourdimemsionsin
