AbstractTraditionaltrackingalgorithmusesCostasloopsandDelayLockedLoops(DLL)totrackthecarrierandPseudo-RandomNoise(PRN)signalsbroadcastbythesatellites,respectively.Thetrackingloopsineachchanneloperateindependentofeachother.Inaddition,theflowofinformationfromtrackingloopstopositiondeterminationisstrictlylefttoright.Theestimatesofthetrackingloopsarethenfedforwardtothenavigationprocessor.ThePVTestimatesofthenavigationprocessorarethenformedusingtheestimatesofthetrackingloops.Thesignalsofdifferentsatellitesareprocessedcollectivelyandinformationissharedbetweenthedifferentchannelsinthevector-basedtrackingalgorithms.Thetaskofsignaltrackingandnavigationstateestimationarenolongerseparateprocesses.TheExtendedKalmanFilter(EKF)simultaneouslytracksthereceivedsignalsandestimatesthereceiver’sposition,velocityandtime.Amajoradvantageofvector-basedtrackingalgorithmsisthatonceagoodposition,velocityandtimesolutionisavailable,allsignalsarecontinuouslytrackedevenunderweak(orno)signalconditions.Vector-basedtrackingalgorithmsareanalyzeddeeplyaswellastraditionaltrackingalgorithminthisthesis.Atfirst,thekeytechnologiesofsignalsreception,includingthecaptureprocess,thetrackingprocess,aswellasthepositiondeterminationprocessareanalyzedindetailbasedontheelaborationofthesatellitenavigationsignalstructurerepresentedbytheGPSsignal.Thestructureandworkingprocessofcarriertrackingloopandcodetrackinglooparestudied,andtheircharacteristicsandmeasurementerrorperformacehavebeenanalyzedusingsimulationsinthisthesis.ThentheprincipleoftheKalmanfilterwasintroduced,anAdaptiveKalmanfilteralgorithmforcarriertrackingloopwasproposedinthisthesis,thedesignofthecarriertrackingalgorithmhasbeencompletedbycreatingthesystemmodelandmeasurementmodel.ThentheprinciplesoftheextendKalmanfilteralgorithmwasstudied,amethodfordesigningvectordelaylockloop(VDLL)usingtheextendedKalmanfilterwasproposed,thedesignofthevectordelaylockloophasbeencompleted,thesystemmodelandmeasurementmodelhavebeencreatedbythismethodinthisthesis.Trackingprocessfor
