ABSTRACT In the background of Sustainable Development, with the problem that the exterior ceramic wall facing of the School of Architecture, Tianjin University begins to fall, the thesis focuses on the renovation strategies of the exterior wall facing, which not only can solve the problem, but also have the potential to be popularized as a low-carbon and environmental friendly way. In the chapter one, the characteristics of the exterior ceramic wall facing is studied in details to guide the following research on renovation strategies of the material. In the chapter two, by summarizing the previous studies on recycling ceramic waste material for different kinds of products, the author tries to find the optimum methods for recycling of ceramic tiles. In the chapter three, based on some principles of recycling, the optimum strategy is determined through experiments, analysis, comparisons and pre-evaluations. In the last chapter, the construction process of the recycled products is recorded in the thesis, introducing the key technical problems of the recycling. Hope to provide an available example for the similar renovation projects.
