In the wave of vast residential construction, improving the quality of residential areas are facing tremendous challenges: the monotony of design routine and construction models, fail to reflect the geographical characteristics of Wuhan. In the summer, there has been a lot of open space in residential areas with low utilization, many design intent failed to meet the needs of users, or the actual needs of users has not been reflected in the built environment. So this article is from this perspective. Through thermal comfort survey and physical environment measure of living environment, summarizes the issues of thermal comfort in the current environment of residential areas , in order to provide a theoretical basis for the improvement of the thermal environment in residential areas, as to improve the utilization of residential areas. First of all, this paper use the methods of survey to examine the environmental parameters, parameters of life, psychological factors and behavioral factors , which has integrated impact of human thermal comfort in open environment. Through collect the data of physical environment in residential open space (air temperature , relative humidity, air velocity, the black-bulb temperature, etc.). Summarize the residential open space thermal environment and the negative factors affecting the thermal comfort, and ultimately propose an effective solution to Wuhan residential open space thermal comfort conditions in summer.
