If the same observer views an object under 2 different light sources - the color perception will be different. Metamerism - What is it ? Two samples appear to match in one light source yet do not match at all in another light source. Result from use of different colorants / pigments to match std and samples. Occurs frequently when std / sample are different substrate. Metameric pairs have the same color coordinates (XYZ values) for a given set of viewing conditions
