It consists of eight songs: Song of the Eighth Route Army, Artillery Song, Midnight Gang Soldiers Song, the Eighth Route Army March, Emergency Song, and Happy the Eighth Route Army. The Eighth Route Army March as the most famous song of the whole chorus has become the Song of Chinese peoples Liberation Army. Chorus of the Eighth Route Army is spectacular and powerful masterpiece. It well reflects the great image of the Chinese PLA, which is the milestone of the musical history of the Chinese PLA. This article analysis the form and the content of this song by the background culture, the political form of the Chinese PLA, and the composer’s life experience, value and skill. It stresses the unique style of this vocal suite, at the same time explain the reason why the chorus has the great meaning toward the Chinese PLA. What’s more important is that it analysis the features of the composition, the style and the skill, which shows the composer ZhengLvcheng uses a unique musical language, the blend of Eastern and Western musical elements and ethnic folk music with the combination of the distinctive shaping of the musical image of our army into this song so that it is a good reference of the development of military music.
