PAGE PAGE 10 is necessary and meaningful to make a comparison and analysis. The thesis is made up of four chapters. The first chapter illustrates the background and significance of the study and introduces the aim, content, approaches and innovation as well. The second chapter focuses on literature review . The researches on science teaching materials at home and abroad are also c overed in this chapter. The third chapter mainly concerns the comparison and analysis of the two sets of teaching material, which starts from science curriculum standard and instructional outlines of natural science. The overall comparison and analysis cov ers many aspects such as theoretical bases, orientation, editing system, way of presentation and experiment, column design and exercise design. The special features of new teaching material are reflected as a result. The fourth chapter deals with the reflection and enlightenment afterwards by means of questionnaire and interview. The disadvantages of Natural Science teaching material and the advantages of Science teaching material are both discussed aiming to explore the connotation and developing trends of the current Junior School ’s Science teaching material, hoping to further improve the Science teaching material, to help teachers understand new curriculum standard and renew teaching belief. Some advice is put forward for consultation better. It is hoped that this thesis may present some constructive suggestions for the editing and using of the teaching material. Meanwhile, this thesis aims to explore new approaches of teaching material and teaching methodology to foster the current science teaching.
