With the economic development， the domestic economic structure has entered the stage of deep industrialization development， in order to achieve strategic transformation， but there has always been a gap in the demand for energy. Among them， the role of coal resources in economic development is gradually prominent， which has a direct impact on the development of coal industry such as iron and steel foundry industry and thermal power generation. Therefore， coal mining technology must also keep pace with the times， in order to create a more substantial economic benefits， in line with the current needs of social development. Based on this， the paper takes the new period as the research background， expounds the necessity of the development of coal mining technology in the process of coal mining， and probes into the development of coal mining technology in the new period.
