Since the end of cold war, the geopolitical conflicts between the two countries occurred one after another. Entering into 21 对 century, with the rapid economic development under the leadership of Putin, Russia began to fight back against the United States geopolitical blockage, resulting in the aggravation of the conflict. This paper, through analyzing the conflicts between the two countries, studies the root causes and characteristics of the conflicts and the impact of the conflict. Through this unique angle, the discrepancy of the relation between the two countries is analyzed so as to offer a new way to predict the development of the relations between the two countries. The paper consists of four parts. The first part elaborates on the geopolitical factors in the international politics and introduces the definition, development, and classification of geopolitics. Based on the theory of land power represented by Mackinder, the conflicts between the two countries in central Asia, east Europe and Caucasia, and the Middle East and other Eurasia continent are studied. Based on the elaboration of the geopolitical conflicts between the two countries, the second part analyzes the causes of the conflicts from the perspectives of strategic objectives, geopolitics, geo-economics, and geo-culture. The third part summarizes the characteristics of the geopolitical conflicts. The first characteristic is the importance of counterpart strategies between the two countries. The second is that the United States is on the offence while Russia is on the defense, which strikes a balance in relations between the two countries. The third is that the con
