The first chapter is an inlroduction of the whole thesis; the second chapter is a literature review for reading theories ，the third chapter deals with Adaptation Theory: an application of Adaptation Theory to reading English texts. The forth chapter is the main body of the thesis，which analyzes Obamas speeches from the adaptational reading perspect ive. And Ihe last chapter is the conclusion of the whole thesis.
