PAGE PAGE 10 Abstract “Orff Music Teaching Method” is created by a famous Germany music educator Karl Orff.As an advanced education system, it has had a profound effect on music education in many countries and regions. The advanced idea of the system is adopted by the music education of our country, which provides a method for the reform of music education in China. This paper makes a comparison of “Orff Music Teaching Method” with Chinese music teaching method first. Then from a practical point of view, the author fulfilled the implementation of a twelve weeks’ localized music teaching practice (a total of 24 classes) which were based on music textbooks and guided by “Orff Music Teaching Method”. The teaching practice the author participated took place in several primary and secondary schools in Gui Yang, Gui Zhou province. This paper can be divided into three parts. The first part is a brief introduction to “Orff Music Teaching Method” and the development of Chinese music teaching method. This part analyses the meaning and value of “Orff Music Teaching Method” on a theoretical level. The second part is an introduction to the localization of “Orff Music Teaching Method” which present its localization process in China as well as the problems faced in our country. The third part is about the methods and strategies of localization of “Orff Music Teaching Method”. In this part,, the author explores the the specific operation method to the localization of “Orff Music Teaching Method” respectively from the language, action, musical instruments, musical sense of hearing training these four aspects on the basis of the teaching practice.
