哈尔滨工业大学工学硕士学位论文 - II - Abstract Hall thruster, with the advantages of high efficiency, high specific impulse, has been widely used in the location maintainment of the satellite and attitude control. In the course of further development, in accordance with the design of the existing means of a single magnetic field, can not deal with the technical contradiction of fully ionization of working fluid and overheating of thruster; so exploring new freedom of thrusers’ design becomes research foucs. This paper presents the design of a new degree of freedom-channel with variable cross-section design. This design method can make up for the traditional design method of a single magnetic field, with a view to achieving the effective control of the flow of gas and the ionization state. Given a specific channel with variable cross-section of the design steps and the characteristics of the selected parameters. The experimental mainly study the influence of variable cross-section channel to the Ionization process of refrigerant and the effects of thruster performance. From the study we found that mutant refrigerant channel has a positive role in the process of Ionization refrigerant and expanding the stability of the thruster work scope. When use gradient-type channel, the ionization zone broaden seriously and shows a bimodal character; the wall of electronics’ cooling effectives is enhanced. When use Gradient- type channel the most obvious characteristic is the existence of the optimal operating point flow and under this flow the thruster is the most efficient .This is in line with the principle of power balance. The experiment studies the matching law of variable cross-section channel and Magnetic field. From the study we find that the optimal magnetic field between Gradient-type channel and cross-section shows one-to-one relationship.
