Methods T UAE was perfor med i n 78 cases of uteri ne fi broi ds . Mean pati ent age was 39 .8 years (range , 29 - 48 years) . Of t he m, 7 1 patients presented wit h menstrual bl eedi ng , l o wer abdo mi nal and/ or l u mbago pai n , and uti nary irritati on . There were i ntra mural myo mas i n 72 patients and sub mucous i n 6 pati ents . There were multi ple myo mas i n 7 1 pati ents and si ngl e i n 7 pati ents . The largerest do mi nant myo mas di ameter was ≤3 c mi n 30 patients and 3 c mi n 48 pati ents . Li piodol- pi ngyang myci n emulsion ( LPE) was used as e mbolic agent wit h a mount of li pi odol ranged fro m 8 - 20 ml and pi ngyang myci n fro m 8 - 16 mg . Forty- six patients f oll o wed by e mbolization with Gelfoa m sponge particles ( GSP) .
