Abstract Pride and Prejudice (1813) is the masterpiece of British famous female writer Jane Austen (1775 -1817). This work not only is the wonder of British literature, also the treasure of literary universe.It describes ones own little world around truly with womens characterized outsight in every possible way, especially the marriages and love disturbances among ladies and gentlemen. This thesis intends to disclose Jane Austen’s writing style through analyzing writing approach based on dialogues, writing’s course unfolded through letters and writing’s keynote founded on irony. In this novel, the images of different characters leap off the paper through the form of dialogue. At the same time, letters play a prominent role in this work, too. It makes the story flow forward. In addition, irony, another highlight of the whole novel which makes this work full of humor and wit, is also to make a mockery of all the British society at that time.
