It does m ake sense to invest igate the clmi at ic features of TC s in the NW P. Based on the Jo int T yphoon W arning Center JTW C ) data on TC s in the NW P from 194 5 to 2006, the character istics o f spat iotemporal d istribution w ere statist ica lly analyzed, and som e latest conc lu sions about TC act iv-i t ies w ere obtained in this paper. T he tem poral distribu tion of TC in NW P show s that, although it inc ludes wt o in- creasing phases and two decreasing ones, the total trend o f the frequency o f TCs keep s increasing during th is period as a whole. The frequency o f typhoon TY ) and super typhoon STY ) has the smi ilar trend asT C, w ith a excep- t ion of the increasing trend since 2000.
