Then, the article describes the background of the Song Dynasty archive management system through three aspects of economic, political, cultural, analysis the effect of social environmental context on archive management. Next, the article introduces the classification of Administrative instruments and archives in the Song Dynasty, the setting of central and local government institutions of Song Dynasty and affiliation of manager, the setting and selection of archive management agencies and staff. At the same time, the article review job specification about various elements of archive management, including collection, identification, sorting, custody, confidentiality and so on.
