高一英语 Unit5—状语从句(下) 知识讲解: 六、结果状语从句   1. 引导结果状语从句的连词:such/so…that…, such/so that   2. 位置:结果状语从句一般位于句尾。   (1) …such/so that…   ① The roof had fallen in, so that the hut was out of use.   ② We moved to the country so that we were away from the noisy and dull city.   ③ His temper is such that we are all afraid of him.   ④ His courage was such that no one could match him.   (2) …so… that…   A. so+adj. +that+从句     ① Kathy is so cute that we all like to play with her.     ② Brad Pitt is so handsome that he captivates a lot of fans across the world.   B. so+adv.+that+从句     ① He runs so fast that he is undoubtedly the winner.     ② My father left home so hurriedly that he left his cell phone home.   C. so+adj+a/an+可数名词单数+that+从句     ① Mona Lisa is so mysterious a painting that it evokes my curiosity a lot.     ② Tom is so clever a boy that we all like him very much.   (3) …such…that…   A. such+a/an+adj.+可数名词单数+that+从句     ① He said it in such a funny way that we couldn’t help laughing.     ② Zhang Ziyi is such an elegant lady that we all fancy her.   注:   1. 当后面跟的名词是不可数名词或名词复数的时候,只能用such,不用so   ①It’s such warm weather that we want to go swimming.   ②These were such difficult questions that none of us could answer.   2. 当后面跟的名词是不可数名词或名词复数的时候,同时当名词前是表示“多或少”的四个词时,如many/much/few/little,只用so,不用such。   ①He gave me so little time that it was impossible to finish the job on time.   ②There are so many people standing in front of the school gate, so I guess there must be    something wrong. 七、目的状语从句   1. 引导目的状语从句的关联词so, so that, in order that, in case (that), for fear that,     lest   2. 目的状语从句的位置:可句首、句中或句尾。   3. 分类介绍:   (1)in order that与 so that的比较   A. in order that比较正式,位置可放句首也可句末。   B. so that 相比来看不太正式,位置一般都在句末。so that 中的that偶尔省略。   C.总体来看两者差异不大,可互换。   e.g. ①They carved the words on the stone so that/ in order that the future generation should/ might remember what they had done.   ②We climbed high so that/ in order that we might get a better view.   ③The teacher raised his voice
