T he effect of heating rate ( 10, 20, 40, 50, 100 e /m in) on the decom position reaction and the re lationsh ip betw een the H /C, O /C, C , V d af d af and ( dw / dt ) m ax w ere stud ied. T hree stages characterized the overall process. The m ain pyro lysis of o il shale took place in the second stage ( 200-600 e ) and the third stage obta ined from M aom ing o il sha le w as show n to be less reactive than that obtained from H uad ian because o f low er carbonate contents of M aom ing o il sha le.
