Active/reactive power integrated optimization in distribution networks
with distributed generation

Abstract: To conquer the voltage fluctuation due to the random-like output of wind turbine and photovoltaic cell and load change,
the voltage control problem of distribution system with distributed generation(DG) is studied. A voltage control model is proposed
with active/reactive power integrated optimization of micro-turbine and fuel cell to ensure the minimum voltage deviation and active
power losses every time interval and reduce the active component of higher grid as much as possible. It also reduces environment
pollution when ensuring voltage quality. The simulation of IEEE 33 test system and an actual distribution network is carried out with
particle swarm optimization algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed model can enhance the environmental benefits
while improving the voltage level of the whole network.
