Accord- ing to d ifferent conditions of site and seism ic design groups, the tmi e-h istory analysis of this new style outer-jacket- ing frame conform ing to current standard is carried out subjected to strong earthquake. Analysis resu lts show that when the design requ irements of frequent earthquake are satisfied, some outer-jacketing fram es bu ilt on Class I, II th th and III sitew ill collapse subjected to strong earthquake of 7 and 8 fortification intensity. On the basis of the elas- tic-plastic response analysis results, seism ic design suggestions for preventing collapse of this outer-jacketing fram e under strong earthquake are presented.
