What’s the difference? You can compare it to driving a car…..with the Push the Bit Systems, you turn a corner by opening and closing the door and banging it against the wall to force you around the curve. With the Point the Bit Systems you steer the wheels in the direction you want to go. * Essentially three components to the system – Geo-Pilot tool itself The long Gauge Bit The GeoSpan unit. * The SlickBore Plus Drilling and Reaming System combines the SlickBore System with SecurityDBS’s Near Bit Reamer (NBR). The NBR follows the same concept as SlickBore - keeping everything centered. Contrast this to a bi-center bit, which has a large off-centered mass on one side. The bi-center approach causes severe vibration and can lead to a less than full gauge hole.
