* Conflict situations are those in which the needs, wants or values of people interfere with each other. Conflict is natural: neither positive or negative. * Team members handle conflict in a variety of different ways. Some are competing, some collaborating, some compromising, some accommodating, and some avoid conflict at any cost. All of these modes can be appropriate in certain circumstance, but because of this variety in resolving conflict, this template offers a way for teams to resolve their conflict constructively. * * * Materials: eyeshade = 1/2 participant # Process: Divide participants into pairs. Each pair assign a blind and a guide. Blindfold the blind, then show the guide to a destination via a designate path( it can be designed according to the training venue.). Trainer can design some barriers to make the task more challenge. The guide lead the blindfolded person to the destination via the same path. during this period, the guide only can give language instruction, can not touch the blind. Debrief: Did you accomplish the task smoothly? Why? Why not? Did the blindfolded person 100% follow the instruction of the guide or he/she grope in the dark occasionally? Did the guide provide enough information/guide? What did the blind do when he/she hadn’t got enough information? * Respect the capability of all members -- believe that everyone can and wants to contribute to their full capacity. The team relies on productive use of differences to improve business outcomes -- teamwork is enhanced by leveraging the knowledge, insights and unique perspectives of all members. Trust and valuing differences are at the core of good relationships. Relationships are an outcome of behaviors -- observe your own behavior and the impact on others. Proactively on-boarding new team members, and new teams, results in greater contribution, sooner.
