In order to so lve the se p rob lem s, a m ethod for telem edical im age enhancem en t is p ropo sed in th is p ap er. It’s ba sed on DM 6437 and imp roved R etinex algorithm. Th is p ap er emp loys adap tive linear stretch ing m ethod on the ba sis of the Global R etinex algorithm to enhance the con tra st of the im age. The algorithm is op tim ized later and then tran sp lan ted to DM 6437 p latform to realize the embedded p latform app lication. It show s that the system can enhance low con tra st, comp re ss dynam ic range and sign ifican tly increa se the dark zone’s inform ation for telem ed ical im age s. It overcom e s deficiencie s in conven tional im age enhancem en t al gorithm s and m eets the requ irem en ts of telem edicine.
