The purpose of this paper is to review the confidentiality and its limitation in counseling or psychotherapy of minors (especially to adolescents). Through examination of ethical code, legislation, the autonomy and rights of minors, and the rights of parents or guardians, we discussed the differences between adult clients and minors clients of the right of confidentialty. We also discussed the dilemma and situation in psychotherapy or counseling for minors. With this paper, we hope to provide some valuable infor- mation to psychologists who work with minors, helping to frame a suitable ethical code of psychotherapy and counseling for minors.
