This slide is about the common type of angina which is caused by narrowing in the coronary arteries of the heart More common Age50 ,menwomen, oldyounger Understanding the arteries of the heart The coronary arteries take blood to the heart muscle. The coronary arteries are the first arteries to branch off the aorta. The aorta is the large artery that takes blood from the left ventricle of the heart to the body. What causes angina? One or more your coronary arteries is usually narrowed. It is caused a reduced blood supply to a part or parts of your heart muscle. The heart complains with pain!!!!!!!!!! What are the symptoms of angina? Typical and common symptoms the common symptom is pain, ache or discomfort Less typical symptoms that sometimes occur non-typical pains Three type of angina Stable (or chronic) angina is brought on when the heart is working harder than usual, such as during exercise. It has a regular pattern and can be predicted to happen over months or even years. Symptoms are relieved by rest or medication. Unstable angina does not follow a regular pattern. It can occur when at rest and is considered less common and more serious as it is not relieved by rest or medicine. Variant (Prinzmetals) angina and microvascular (smallest vessels) angina are rare and can occur at rest without any underlying coronary artery disease.
