The Olympic Games are held every four years, with the?Summer?and?Winter Games?alternating, meaning they each occur every four years but two years apart. Their creation was inspired by the?ancient Olympic Games, which were held inOlympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Baron?Pierre de Coubertin?founded the?International Olympic Committee?(IOC) in 1894. The Modern Olympics The Five Wreaths of Olympics Wherever the five wreaths turn to, wherever the Olympic goes. The five wreaths can have the single color or five colors, which are blue, yellow, black, green and red. The five wreaths mean the unity of the five continents and the athletes who come from all over the world should compete with each other fairly, frankly and friendly in the Olympic Games. The Modern Olympics The Olympic Creed reads:   The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle.
