The injection compensation value is a correction value for deviation of the injection volume and timing in relation of tolerances between injectors (opening and closing delay). On older models this value is sensed by the ECU via a correction resistor on each injector; while on more recent models this value contains more detailed information (in relation to more parameters), and is registered with the Intelligent Tester II. Injection volume feedback control is a correction to compensate variations in torque between cylinders, measured during idling with a warm engine. When discussing the injection timing, the MAIN injection timing is meant. Pilot injection timing is decided in the injection rate calculation. factors determine the injection start (timing). Based on several signals the ECU calculates when injection should start, or in other words injection timing.
