Pottery wine vessels are important material cultural remains of the civilization process during the Songze Culture period in the Lake Tai basin. By type, the pottery wine vessels of the Songze Culture could be classified into yan - and zeng -steamers, basin and yi - pourer, zun -vessel, wine filter, jar and jug, gui -pitcher, he-pitcher, pot, cup and special-shaped vessel, ten types in total; by functions and uses, they could be classified into brewing vessels, storing vessels and serving vessels; by cultural properties, they could be classified into non-ritual vessels and ritual vessels. Pottery wine vessels as ritual vessels emerged newly in the Songze Culture, and gradually evolved into the ritual wine vessel assemblage of ding -tripod, dou-stemmed bowl and pot.
