AbstractSupported Abstract Supported by the basic principles of pedagogy and P.E.,a survey on the teaching conditions,teaching effects,and teaching evaluation of elective P.E.courses for undergraduate students in universities of Anhui province has been made by using the methods of documentary,questionnaire,logic analysis,mathematical statistics,and SO on.Thus come to the following conclusions: 1.Physical Education in universities of Anhui province is carded out through traditional modd,two-phase model,elective course model,three-phase model,and parallel model.And there are 1 0 universities adopted different kinds of elective coursesinEE. 2.Incapacity of sports arena and equipments is the most decisive factor influencing the teaching effects of elective coUrses in Physical Education.The teaching staff can basically meet the teaching needs,but is need to be improved both in educational qualification and academic titles. 3.Elective courses mainly include football,basketball,volleyball and aerobics, which is lack of new items and the theoretical contents is outdated;Teaching is organized according to the scheduling system of grade-elective course and the theoretical courses is just repeat what tlm text says,which will have bad impacts Oll teaching effects directly,Teaching objectives remained蠲enhancing physical qualities and improving skills,and too much emphasis has been laid 011 practice,while ignored building a concept of lifeqong learning;Elective coun沧materials failed to meet the requirements of students and without any marked features of the course itself; Teaching methods are too monotonous to motivate the students to participate in;Few periods,rigid option system and unreasonable P.E.background make the students’ election quite un南urlded. 4.Elective course has won a high recognition from the students,and played a certain role in improving students’sports abilities and skills,but it is insufficient to help the students to d
