ABSTRACTABSTRACT ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Firms have been gradually regarding the competing as part of a supply chain against other supply chains,rather than as a single firm against other individual flrms since the 1980s． It brings much new hard work for the supply chain management．Supply chain management has been the important subject all over the world．Interest in the bullwhip effect,the peculiar phenomenon in supply chain nlanagement，has steadily increased when it is regarded as the major eallse of supply chain inefficiency．It is important to analyze the bullwhip effect systemically and comprehensively． Based on the literature research the causes of the bullwhip effect from three perspectives are戤laly跫d：the rationing game made by different allocation mechanisms，the course of forecasting and processing demand information,and the supply chain structure． The corresponding control meltsures tO the bullwhip effect are proposed in the last section． The main content and findings in this dissertation are summarized as follows： First,a general literature r目／iew relating to supply chain management is presented．We divide the researches of supply chain management into eight a职嬲．For each ofthem,a brief description ofthe basic content mad base tools is provided．Moreover we pay much attention on the main problems existing in the field ofthe bullwhip effect． Next,we analyze the evolution of supply chain management and some definitions of supply chain management are examined．The main reason for lack ofa universal definition of supply chain management is the multidisciplinary origin and evolution ofthe concept．And we also provide our definition of the supply chain management Further some of the key points afe summed up in implementing supply chain management successfully．Moreover we describe and evaluate all the research results ofthe bullwhip effect． Thirdly．many common allocation mechanisms used in firms a坞considered．We sort these allocation mechanisms into truth-telling direct mechan
