万方数据 万方数据 u AbstractThis Abstract This report discusses the E-C translation methods of political news． As one of the three factual weekly magazines in America，and one of the earliest weekly magazines half a century ago，Time covers extensive information．Most of its reports are analytical and critical articles with rather strong obj ectivity．The reports of political news in recent Time were selected as the object of study in order to transmit information and make Chinese people know the views and trends of political news from the foreign mainstream media as well as discuss the translation methods of political news through this translation practice． This report is divided into four parts．The first part introduces the translation task,mainly analyzing its significance and characteristics．The most prominent features of political news lies in its strong political complexion，the seriousness and accuracy of its language．So it will be of great importance in the discussion of the translation methods of political news through this translation practice based on the texts from Time．The second part talks about the translation process．The writer should draw up a general plan for the whole process before translating，including the arrangement of time schedule，accumulation of background knowledge and the preparation of translation means．The next step is the text reading and the last one is the proofreading of translation．As the most important part of this report，the third part is case analysis．It analyzes problems encountered through specific examples from translation such as the choice of words，the increase and decrease of the meaning of words，the 万方数据 万方数据 adjustment adjustment of word orderthe separation and combination of sentence． The last part is the conclusion and thoughts of the translation practice．It talks about the problems and solutions in the practice and concludes some feelings and experiences about the translation methods of political news． Key words：political news；c
