The The Research on Design of Waterfront Resort Hotels Abstract With the booming economy of the world，peoples are enjoying the life of higher quality with more leisure time and more requests for knowledge and culture． Meanwhile，the developed transportation makes space distance become shorten，SO the tourist industry is developing fast．In China,due to the New Year’S Day, Chinese Lunar New Yjar，two golden weeks of May Day and the National Day,and two-day weekends，people have more time for relax．These phenomenons promote tourist industry changing from the traditional sightseeing type towards the modem holiday·spending type．Under this background，the fast development of the resort hotel becomes a trend of the Holiday·spending Era． Chinese ancient philosopher Kong Zi said，“The Benevolent enjoy mountains，the wisdom enjoys water”．As a special environmental region of all scenic areas，the waterfront areas become very important and popular for spending holidays and sightseeing in these years，and also have very high business value and good development foreground．Although there are a lot of tree examples for waterfront hotels，Iittle systematic discussion iS presented．On this，the text hereunder will give a multi-angle analysis，conclusion and research． The article first introduced the development resort hotels，analyzed the history and future development trend．Then it would analyze the relations between waterfront environment and resort hotels，aiming at different types of near-water environment． Finally,the article did some induction and research on these characteristic spaces： entrance，lobby，atrium space，corridor and balcony space，indieated the important influences that hotel business philosophy and management style will make on hotel design．Kindly hope this article will provide some inspiration and methods to others for designing Waterfront Resort Hotel． Key Words：Resort hotel；Waterfront space；Environmental factor；Hydrophilic；Humanity 插图索引图2-I 插图索引 图2-I 国外某滑雪度假酒店 6 图2-2海滨度假区海滩风光
