Step1: Warm up and review
Review the story in Unit3. Ask students to fill in the blanks according to the story.
Step2: Presentation
Wu Yifan also had a dream. Do you want to know his dream. Lead in today’s topic: What a dream!
Ask students to read the passage quickly and answer questions: What was Wu Yifan’s dream about?
Then ask students to listen and number the pictures.
Ask students to read paragraph 1 about the first race and answer:
Q1: Who did Wu Yifan have a race with?
Q2: Who ran fast?
Check answers and read paragraph1 together.
Wu Yifan couldn’t run fast in the first race. How did he feel? He was so worried.
What happened then? Read paragraph and underline the sentence.
Wu Yifan could run fast again. So there was a second race.
Lead the sentence: Wu Yifan ran like a cheetah. Ask students to choose its meaning.
At last what happened to Wu Yifan? Ask students to read paragraph 3 and choose answers.
Step 3 Practice
Read the whole passage by themselves.
Now Wu Yifan is telingl his dream to mother. Listen and fill in the blanks.
Ask students to summarize the story according to the pictures and the mind map on the blackboard.
