N orthw est Electric Pow er Design Institute, X i an 710075, China ) Abstract: By d iscomposed real recorded earthquake ground motion into a finite number of w avelet components w hich represent different frequency bands through M allat algorithm, thew avelet component wh ich affects mostly the peak groundmotion velocity(PGV ) and peak groundmotion acceleration(PGA ) can be identified. And by mi proving the T mi e-Frequency w avelet analysis method (TFWA ) and T mi e domain synthesizing w avelet method( TDSW ), a new adjusting method of ground motion w as proposed to m atch the target D-V-A combined spectra and PGA, P GV smi ultaneously.
