Ⅰ Teaching aims:
Knowledge aim:
Master some activities that can do on the farm.
Skill aim :
Put the two tenses into use correctly.
Emotion aim:
Love animals, love nature, love life.
Teaching important point:
Finish the exercises about Day 3.
Teaching difficult point:
The correct usage of the present tense and the present continuous tense.
Teaching method:
Task-based teaching method; Situational teaching method; Ask and answer.
Teaching aids:
Headwears of Bill and Mike;PPT;ping pong ball and bat; color pencils.
Ⅱ Teaching process:
Step1 Warm up Lead -in
1.Show a farm on the screen and ask:
What can you see in the picture?
(Mike and Bill come onto the stage)
MJ:Wow! So many animals! It`s amazing!
Mike:I love animals. They`re so lovely!
Bill: Me,too!
Mike:What can you see?
Bill:I can see __ and __.
Mike:Look at the __ and __.
Bill:Oh, __is __ than __.
Teacher:Can you try?
Step2 Presentation
1.MB point to the big screen and say: Now, Let`s see what else we can do on the farm?
Ss circle the words and complete the sentences at page 44.
2.Introduce the present tense on the big screen.
3.Teacher:These people are having fun on the farm. Write down three sentences about what they are doing.
4.Bill plays ping-pong and Mike draws pictures .They walk onto the stage.
5.Questions:What`s Bill doing ? What`s Mike doing?
Students answer the questions and finish the sentences.
6.Introduce the present continuous tense on the big screen.
Step3 Consolidation and extension
1.Show some verb phrases on the screen .
2.We have two tenses today,they`re __ and __.
